![]() ![]() We would deal with lots of situations such as end of life care, CHF, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, ETOH withdrawal, Diabetes, Cellulitis, and many many more diagnoses. I inserted IVs and was specially trained to be a Vascular Access Specialist, this involved maintaining PICC line dressings, accessing ports, administering TPN to un-clot lines, and being able to educate nurses on performing blood draws off of central lines. I would educate on both chronic and acute disease processes. I inserted and maintained chronic and straight catheters. I managed NG/PEG tubes including administrating medications through them as well as continuous/bolus feedings. I would administer all kinds of medications including antibiotics, steroids, anti-hypertensives, blood thinners, and lots of PRN medications such as pain medications and anti anxiety medications. I would perform hourly TEMP rounds, vital signs as ordered and withdrawal assessments. A typical work day would consist of administering daily night time medications (I worked third shift), then assessing the progression of admitting diagnoses, as well as any changes in medical conditions. I had excellent coworkers and management. I learned a great deal in many aspects of healthcare. I feel that my job at Bronson was amazing. ![]()
